than 1000ft.
- Amblers walk every Tuesday. Distance is 5 miles with ascent rarely
above 500ft.
- Scramblers walk alternate weeks (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).
Distance varies between 8 and 15 miles and the ascent between 2000
and 4400ft. in the summer when the walks are longer and higher,
a B walk is arranged which walks in the same locality as the main
walk, but covers two-thirds the distance and height.
N.B. Dogs are not allowed on walks.
The Club also arranges two walking holidays each year, one in the
spring and the other in the Autumn, generally from Monday to
Friday duration.
The Club holds an Annual Lunch each year and each Section organizes
its own Christmas Lunch.
The Annual General Meeting is held each February and after the
formal business a Jacobs Join is enjoyed, followed by a slide presentation
of walks by each section.
The Club has written constitution and a Committee if the Chairman,
Treasurer and Secretary together with the leader of each of the
three sections and one other representative from each of the sections.
