STOCKTON RAMBLING CLUB
Stockton Rambling Club has a long history. It was founded in 1952
and now has a membership of over 250. The main walking programme
is on Sundays when we travel by coach which costs approx £6.
There are usually three grades of walk:-
- Grade A 13 –
- 16 miles Grade B 10 –
- 13 miles Grade
C Under 10 miles
The programme includes walks all over the North of England, from
the Cheviots to the Yorkshire Wolds, and from the North York Moors
to Cumbria. There are also walks each Wednesday evening during the
summer and every other Thursday throughout the year. Members use their
own or public transport for these mid-week walks, which tend to be
closer to home.
Two weekend breaks are organised each year. Recently these have been
in Derbyshire, the Lake District and the Scottish Border country.
Social functions include slide shows and talks, visits to places of
interest and short walks ending with a pub meal.
Subscription: Adults £4, Juniors £2.
